Oran Tobin is an Irish baritone, conductor, composer, and educator based in Galway. A graduate of the Cork School of Music, his work is driven by a fascination with what the human voice can do and how ensemble singing brings people together.
He draws on Irish landscape, folklore, and the changing seasons. His compositions use rich harmonic language and lyrical storytelling. His conducting aims for performances that are technically strong and emotionally immediate.
As Artistic Director of Réalt, Oran is building an ensemble where artistry and collaboration go hand in hand. One that champions living composers and creates intimate performances rooted in trust, curiosity, and the quiet power of unaccompanied voices.
Oran is also the Artistic Director of Meitheal and Composer in Residence at Unhinged, where he creates works that blend traditional Irish influences with contemporary storytelling.
